External Affairs Minister tweeted saying, Pakistan has agreed to facilitate the visit of mother and wife of Kulbhushan Jadhav and assured us of their safety, security and freedom of movement in Pakistan.
MEA Spokesperson Ravish Kumar said that government is working out modalities of meeting.
Kulbhushan Jadhav is languishing in Pak jail. He was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court in April on charges of espionage and terrorism. His sentencing had evoked a sharp reaction in IndiaBut, the International Court of Justice, in May halted his execution on India's appeal.
On November 10, Pakistan agreed to allow his wife to meet him but India demanded a visa for Jadhav's mother as well on humanitarian grounds.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Sawraj had recently discussed Jadhav's case with Pakistani High Commissioner to New Delhi Sohail Mahmood.
