Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI) conducts TMISAT 2020 for admissions to the B.Tech Marine engineering programmes. TMI was established in 1998 in Induri, Pune and offers courses which are approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS). The Marine Engineering and Nautical Science degree programmes offered by Tolani Maritime Institute also are approved by the Maritime Port Authority of Singapore. 


The examination has been postponed until further notice thanks to COVID-19. The application forms for TMISAT 2020 are available upto July 10 for both national centres and Induri centres. Candidates are going to be shortlisted on the idea of PCM marks and IMU-CET 2020 ranks and can be involved in the web test. 


TMISAT 2020 is meant to assess the candidates on their reasoning skills, solving skills, public knowledge , personality traits and more. Based on the scores secured by the candidates, the merit list of TMISAT 2020 is going to be prepared. The shortlisted candidates of TMISAT 2020 will need to report for the counselling procedure and so as to be eligible to urge the admission, the candidates need to be physically/medically fit.

How to fill the TMISAT 2020 Application Form?

Below are the steps to apply for TMISAT 2020 online

Step 1: Registration

In order to register, applicants need to fill in the following details,

  • Once the details are filled on the application form, applicants need to click on the “Proceed to Next Step” tab.


Step 3: Upload Photograph

Applicants are required to upload their passport size photographs to complete the TMISAT 2020 application form filling process.


Step 4: Payment

Applicants must complete the payment procedure of application fee.

Necessary documents to be sent to TMI along with TIMSAT application

  • A printed copy of the application form and the summary generated after an application is made through this website

  • Two identical recent passport size photographs with name & form no. written at the back.

  • Self-attested Copies of certificates and/or mark sheets of your 10th and 12th  examinations (or its equivalent). Applicants who have not received 12th marksheet may submit a bonafide certificate from the head of the school or college where they appeared for these exams

  • Self-attested Copy of Birth Certificate (for proof of age and place of Birth).

  • Downloaded copies of class XII marksheet (on receipt) from internet attested by school Principal

  • Copies of certificates for sports and any other extracurricular activities, if available (from Std. VIII and above only).

  • Online transaction receipt, if paid online, OR Demand Draft payable at Pune for Rs. 1200/- favouring Tolani Maritime Institute. Please write your form no. and contact details including mobile phone no. on the reverse of the Demand Draft.


Exam Pattern:

  • The online test with 80 questions in four sections and a behavioural assessment

  • The exam will have multiple-choice format covering Physics, Mathematics, Analytical and Logical Reasoning

  • The questions will be of 10+2 level

  • There is one section each with negative marking in Physics and Mathematics

  • Duration of the test is 90 minutes

  • On completion of the Main test consisting of above four sections, there will be a behavioural assessment for 30 minutes

  • This test is conducted in 12 centres across India.


Only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria of TMISAT 2020 are going to be eligible to use for the doorway exam for admissions to B.Tech Marine Engineering degree programme at Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI). Following are the standards that are required to be met by the Candidates to be eligible to urge admission into the institute.


Age: So as to be eligible for the admission within the institute, the male candidates are required to change state on or after 1st September, 1999. There is a 2 years age relaxation for the feminine candidates who should change state on or after 1st September, 1997. The minimum regulation to urge admission within the institute is 17 years.


Gender: The Institute doesn't differentiate amongst candidates on the idea of gender. Both genders are equally eligible.


Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are going to be offered the admission within the institute.


Academic Qualifications: The candidates should have successfully completed their Class 12th (10+2) or equivalent with at least 60% marks in PCM and at least 50% marks in either Class 10th or Class 12th. Candidates whose Class 12th results are awaited also are eligible to use.


Medical Fitness: Candidates are required to satisfy the minimum fitness and medical standards if they want to urge through the admission procedure. Candidates are advised by the authority to travel through the medical fitness test before applying for the admission test certain parameters like Eyesight, urogenital system, Skin, systema nervosum, gastrointestinal system, systema respiratorium, circulatory system, systema lymphatica, Digestive System, ENT, skeleton, Constitution of body, etc.
