AEEE is a university level entrance examination. Through this exam, candidates will get admission in Engineering courses. Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination (AEEE) is conducted every year by the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Through AEEE, admission will be offered in Bengaluru and Ettimadai (Coimbatore), Amritapuri (Kollam), etc. campuses. Application form can be filled through online or offline both modes.


Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Amrita University) is conducting a common Amrita Entrance Examination-Engineering (AEEE) every year on an all India basis for admission to the 4 year B.Tech. Degree Programmes offered by the University in its three campuses namely Amritapuri, Bengaluru, and Coimbatore.

  1. Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria will be admitted to the first year of 4 year B.Tech. programmes offered by the Amrita University based on the candidate’s rank in the Amrita Entrance Examination- Engineering (AEEE).
  2. Amrita Entrance Examination-Engineering (AEEE) is the only qualifying examination for B.Tech admissions in Amrita University.
  3. AEEE 2021 is a common entrance examination administered by the University. It is conducted in two separate modes, namely Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and Pen & Paper Based Test (P&P) mode.

Exam Pattern

  1. Mode: The exam will be conducted through both online and offline modes.
  2. Duration of Exam: The total duration of the exam will be 150 minutes.
  3. No. of Questions: There will be 100 questions in the exam.
  4. Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) will be asked in the examination.
  5. Subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  6. Marking Scheme: For every correct response, 3 marks will be awarded.
  7. Negative Marking: For each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted from the total score.

Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants willing to appear in the exam will have to satisfy AEEE Eligibility Criteria 2023 set by the University for Admission to the first year of four years B. Tech programme. The detailed eligibility is given below:

AEEE Age Limit

  1. The date of birth of the applicants should fall on or after July 1, 1999.

Educational Qualification

  1. Qualifying Exam: Candidates should have passed or appearing in class 12th or equivalent from a recognized board. 
  2. Qualifying Marks: Candidates should obtain 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.

Subjects: Candidates must have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and also obtain 55% in each of these three subjects in class 12th.
